Time sure flies when you're having fun! School started last Tuesday and I had some Financial Aid hang-ups that I had to work through all week. Needless to say, all is well and I was finally able to pick up my books yesterday... at least I think it was yesterday.. no, maybe it was Monday. Yup, Monday it was.

You'll have to ignore anything in this post that makes no sense at all. My children decided last week to get ill... actually they got ill the week before. We have had sick people in this house for a total of 2 1/2 weeks now... and counting! Apparently my kids felt like being generous and sharing with me. Isn't that so sweet of them. Sunday, as I was sitting on the bed reading some articles for one of my classes I started all of a sudden to feel achy and my throat hurting... not good! I ran for the flashlight and a mirror. Yup, you guessed it! Strep! OHHHHH How I hate strep. We do not get along in any way shape or form. The time prior to this that I had it... It was uber bad. Strep has always been the one illness that takes me down and takes me down hard! Luckily for me, I had antibiotics on hand (That Mexico trip that dh took sure paid off.. hehe) My devil of a husband also made me take icky liquid medicine. And I wonder why the kids throw fits when we try to get medicine down them. I am feeling sooo much better. I can swallow without crying. Lucky for me... again, Oklahoma finally decided to have a winter. Monday we started getting ice. I had been in bed all day and hear Don pull up about noonish. He has been home all week. So glad my body decided to be ill when he could be home. He's also done a fabulous job of keeping the house caught up and kept up... he's a keeper!

Oh, back to school. This semester I am takingg English Comp 1, Ancient and Medieval Civilization, Personality Theory, and Art Appreciation. Jealous??? Sounds fun, huh? I love it!

Haven't crafted much.. see previous paragraph about school and illness.. but plan to real soon. Found a super cute blanket I want to crochet soon. Speaking of crocheting. I must take a picture of Don and his first ever project. He finally completed his scarf and he is so proud. For that matter I am proud of him! He did a great job!

Tonight for dinner I made the Pioneer Womans... Ranch Style Chicken... and Fluffy New Potatoes. Seriously... you must try it. It was uber scrumptious. I did use a couple of variations when I made mine, but it still turned out great.

Even though I have felt quite weak, it felt great to be in the kitchen cooking and baking... had to make some brownies for the sweet tooth as well! Pssst Kristin.. I'm sending you virtual brownies! ;) 

So now that I probably have bored you to death with my jibber jabber... here's the fun part! Pictures of kids playing in the snow... er Sleet!

 

Can you say pathetic? He hasn't felt well either, but was dying to get outside in his new snow boots. So, we bundled up just like the kid from A Christmas Story, played on the sled for 5 minutes, then in the house for hot chocolate!

Jenny and I had a girls night last Friday night. We lucked out big time too. We found a bar in Bricktown that was running a ladies night special... free entry and free tecate light! Fun and Free! Two of my favorite words. It was Rok Bar and they definitely rocked. Played great music all night long. We had a great time, can't wait to bring Don up there some time.

First and Foremost.... Let me wish my wonderful mother a Happy Birthday! Yesterday she celebrated her 35th birthday... not much older than me! ;) Happy Birthday Mom. Love you!

 It's nearly 10pm and I am just not sitting for the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I'm rather glad that I have had such a productive day today. Things were crazy with all the boys home over Christmas break. Today... Today was the day! The day that school welcomed all these angelic little creatures back into their arms!

I made out my to do list on Ravelry and was quite impressed at how much I was able to accomplish. I'll share here also!

Phew... It's been a while since I have knocked out a to do list like that.

Oh... and the bread turned out fantabulous. Kristin and I both baked the same bread today. As a matter of fact, we were partners in gettng things done on our to do lists!

Tomorrow, more of the same. Maybe I will feel like I am starting to get my home back.

I started crocheting a scarf for my friends daughter the other day.... Was almost completed with it and decided I wasn't happy with it, so tore it all out. Now I'm redoing it in another design. The crazy part about it... As I was sitting here on the bed crocheting, Don says "When you get done with that can you show me how to do it?" What? Really? You want to crochet? OK... Of course, he gets frustrated very easily. He is left handed but trying to crochet right handed. He is actually starting to get the hand of it though. He has even picked it up on his own and gotten to work on it. He is trying to make himself a scarf... I'll keep ya posted how it turns out!

Don and I went to have breakfast (at midnight) the  other night and here is little ole me donning the hat and scarf my mom made me for Christmas.

Sure does bring out the blue in my eyes!

And before I get leave you and get back to my book (I'm reading Mercy by Jodi Picoult at the moment).... Can someone please explain this to me?????

 This was a Christmas gift for one of my youngest boys. A foam alphabet puzzle. Cute right.... But when you look closer, do you see the little oddity? Did they change the English alphabet and not tell us? Kind of like they expected us all to know how to speak spanish to get by in our own country? What is so odd is that on the sticker label... there is absolutely nothing in spanish... YET plain as day... there is an N with a tilda right afgter the N.

So, if someone can inform  me of what I missed! I'd appreciate it!

Welcome 2009

It's a new year. Don and I didn't do anything special to ring it in. He cleaned upstairs with the boys while I baked some goodies and made dinner. Afterwards, I played on the computer while Don fell aleep and the boys watched movies! Total excitement here! ;)

I have to say that I am utterly happy that 2008 is gone. It was one of the hardest years for us in a long time. Everyone says that with Obama being elected that 2009 is the year of change... guess we'll see!

School has been out for a while so I have had a nice break. Still contemplating on what I will be doing for the Spring semester. I have been spending my time trying to get back in the habit of some of the things that I enjoy doing at home. I have baked more, worked on organizing my yarns and fabrics so I can crochet (maybe some knitting) and sew, Worked on organizing my scrapbooking.... but that is a never ending project!

Oh.... Oh... Oh... and I have even been reading for pleasure! I just finished up the Twilight series and Love love love love loved it! Now I'm reading Mercy by Jodi Picoult. Check out my Booklist in my sidebar.
