As many of you might know, having a pre-teen child usually means that mom and dad don't know a thing at all. At least, that's the case in this house. BUT.... I got to prove this dude wrong last night!
Mr. Pre-teen had a stye forming on his eye the end of last week. When I first saw it I suggested that he try to pull that eyelash out of it. The craziness... can you believe I said that? I sent him off to my sister's on Friday and gave instructions that he needed to keep a warm compress on it for a little while. Well, apparently that is the craziest thing ever and why would he do what mom suggests? She isn't a doctor!
By the time he came home last night, his eye was huge. Guess who wanted to be agreeable to putting a warm compress on it? Yup, Mr. Pre-teen. Nana told him that it would help it and sure enough, Nana knows best cause she is afterall Nana and on top of that, a nurse. OY!
At one point, when I was tired of Mr. Pre-teen thinking I was a complete imbecile, we headed over to wikipedia.com. You will never ever believe what it had to say! It totally validated mom. I think he was ever so slightly impressed that mom actually did know a little something after all!
Later that night, when I chose to put a wet, warm teabag on his eye and secure it with an old panty hose leg, he didn't fight me and think I was crazy!
Small steps. We're getting there. By the time he hits 30, he should realize that mom and dad weren't really stupid! :)
Because I don't like to leave anyone with out pictures..... Some of the fun that has been going on in my life lately!
Me, Don and Jenny at the Keith Anderson, Gary Allan and Montgomery Gentry concert. Don was working the concert and got Jenny and I VIP tickets! We were even escorted inside, past all the people getting searched! We were feeling special!
Don and I hanging out at Henry Hudson's and playing Darts.
Baby Christian turned 2 this month!
Mr. Caterpillar that Noah found and we are now waiting for it to turn into a beautiful butterfly in Nicolas' bug habitat.
OH. Oh. OH. Oh.
Check it out... I actually scrapped! I know, can you totally believe it? I made Weightloss journals for Jenny and I! Thought I photographed hers, but I guess I only did mine!
'Tis all for now!
Laters!
Ciao!
C.
